1. Infrastructure Development

   The prisons complex at Ondangwa, the state hospital at Oshakati, schools, clinics, and various business centers all over Northern Namibia stand as proof of Johann's commitment to infrastructural development. Named after Johann and his wife Cathrien, Deca Construction soon expanded into SuperDeca, taking on private developments as well.

2. Pioneering in Angola

   When the war in Angola ended, Johann saw opportunities in the east of the country. He built a clinic at Nancova and a bridge over the Tumpa River, where one of the final battles for Southern Africa was fought. This marked the beginning of Afrideca - Construção Civil E Transportes, Limitada, an Angolan company led by Thinus van Zyl and Bruce Gardner.

3. Expansion and Collaboration

   Thinus van Zyl, a family friend from Johann's early farming days in the Kalahari, shared Johann's love of flying. Their partnership, alongside Bruce Gardner, enabled Afrideca to expand into the hospitality industry, fishing, development, aviation, and construction in Angola and Namibia. Johann's ventures also extended into South Africa, making Afrideca a notable force in the sub-region.

4. Continued Growth

   After Johann's untimely death in 2012, Thinus continued to lead Afrideca, with Dirk, Johann's son, stepping in as a director. Bruce remained at his post, ensuring the company's continuous growth. Afrideca’s current leadership upholds the principles Johann instilled: seizing opportunities, honoring agreements with integrity, and correcting mistakes.
